Class 4B

This video has been created by our Comenius assistant teacher Kaia. Kaia was here in our school for four months. She taught us a lot about Estonian culture and language. She left back home last Friday and we all miss her a lot! She will be a great teacher when she´ll graduate!

The trip to Poland

To say “Hello” in Polish, just say “Cześć.” But we actually packed our “Yassou” (Hello in Greek) and flew to Frédéric Chopin ‘s homeland. We were all astonished by the magnificent landscape, the spring snowfall (last time we experienced snowfall in Kalymnos was ages ago) … Ah, we almost forgot to mention those tasty sausages! But “Czesc” may also be used to say “Bye”. Thank you all for your kind hospitality! Dziekuje bardzo!!!

"Rigani" and "Alesfakia" some herbs of Argos.....

Kalymnos is mainly mountainous with complicated topography. The island is mainly barren, (except for the two fertile valleys of Vathi and Pothia, where olives, oranges and vines are grown). This rather dry land has given us unique herbs, such as “alesfakia” (type of sage with woody stems, which is native to the Mediterranean region). But enough with faunapedia. After all that was just an introduction followed by the “main dish”: a… picnic in our school’s courtyard! Lemon-herb chicken with roasted potatoes! Sounds yummy!!! Who is hungry?

Speaking about school bullying...

School bullying? Since violence can never be the answer, we tried to (somehow) adopt a fast and funny educational “theater” show that provided children with practical information on this issue. We did not focus on how to avoid bullies, but we emphasized on the fact that character counts! Mutual respect and embracing each other’s uniqueness and diversity is the wise strategy for dealing with this problem.
