On Saturday we went to near-by island Telendos and learnt about its history and enjoyed the sea and wonderful seafood in restaurant Kapsoulis.
On Sunday we were invited to school´s festival at school and children performed plays and songs and dances about Greek history. In the end we were also learning Kalymnian dances by live-orhestra.
On Monday we visited another near-by island Pserimos, where only lived about 50 people all-year-around. There we did some walking and swimming. Pavlos also caught a octopus by his bear-hands. In Pserimos we spent the whole day and also enjoyed the lunch on the main-beach. After Pserimos some stayed in Pothia and town for some shopping and dinner and sight-seeing.
On Tuesday we did the hiking-route from Argos school up the small chappel and over the mountain down to the beach where we stopped for swimming and caught sea-urchins and shells. After the beach we continued climbing up to the cave and discovered stalagmites and some mice :) The path up on the mountains was spectacular and surrounded by herbs such as oregan, thyme and rosemaries.
After the hike we had the most delicious lunch offered by parents of children living next the the school. We ate mousaka, dolmadakia, special Kalymnian salad, stuffed cabbagerolls, tsatsiki, and for dessert cream-filled cake, baked sweets, karbouzi.
On Wednesday we went rock-climbing to Kasteli crag. Our guides were Loukas and his wife Alexandra. Climbing is huge in Kalymnos and even in Summer heat there were climbers all over the world, not even imagining how it will be in October when it´s the busiest climbing months in Kalymnos.
On Thursday we had different options. Some went to museums in Pothia. Some went for hike up to the Arginonta and beyond and some went climbing to Odyssea crag and some did some relaxation by the pool and snorkelling. In the evening some took a hike to Grande Grotta to see the sunset and enjoy the view. We also got-together at night to say good-byes becouse Friday was the date of the departure :( Time went so quickly and it was time to return home. Bye-bye Snufkin!
