Snufkin learning about greek traditions for Easter

Snufkin has spent Easter holidays with Kalotina(pupil of 3rd class). He has learned how the Kalymnians are perparing the traditional Easter meal ( we call it muuri), how we preparing the traditional oven to cook it. Snufkin was helping Kalotina all the way.

ERASMUS at school

Kytöpuisto school took part in a project, where you can invite a erasmus-student for a school. Our student was Blanca from Madrid. Blanca is studying to be a kindergartenteacher and she is exchangestudent now in Helsinki University until June. Blanca had prepared a powerpoint show about her country. Children were also asking her lots of questions about her hobbies (reading), favorite animals (elephant) and football (Real Madrid, of course). We had a nice day with Blanca. She was also very interested in Comenius and send her greetings to all you and Snufkin.

DeForestAction

Class 3B in Kytöpuisto took part in Videoconference organised by DeforestAction, which is a project run by young people around the world, aiming to save rainforests in Indonesia. Huge amounts of rainforests are being cut down for palmoil, lots of wildlife is being destroyed among very rare orangutans. We took part of conference where we had live-contact to people in Indonesia and other schools around the world. This was a unique experience for us.

African week

While Snufkin was travelling children in Kytöpuisto were enjoying African week. Whole week children got familiar with African culture. Also African consert was organised by local musicians and children got a chance to learn play drums.
